How long does it take to build a custom pool?
Most custom pools take between 8–12 weeks to complete once construction begins. Weather, permitting, and design complexity can affect the schedule, but our team provides regular updates to keep you informed every step of the way.
Can I start my pool project in the fall or winter?
Absolutely! Fall and winter are actually great times to build. Cooler temperatures help your yard recover faster after excavation, and it ensures your pool is ready to swim by spring.
Do you handle the design and permitting process?
Yes — Float Pool Co. manages everything from concept to completion, including permitting, engineering coordination, and inspections. We make the process as smooth and stress-free as possible.
Do you build commercial pools too?
We do! In addition to custom residential pools, Float Pool Co. designs and builds commercial pools for apartments, communities, and hospitality properties across Oklahoma.
What types of finishes and materials do you offer?
We offer a wide range of high-quality materials including Pebble Sheen® plaster, tile, coping, decking, and stone options. Every finish is chosen for durability, beauty, and long-term performance.
Do you offer financing options?

Are you certified and insured?
Yes. Float Pool Co. is fully Certified and insured for both residential and commercial pool construction in Oklahoma, giving you complete peace of mind.
Who will be my main point of contact during construction?
Our Operations Manager, Dalton, is your primary contact throughout the entire build. He’ll keep you updated on progress, timelines, and next steps — ensuring communication stays clear and consistent.
What makes Float Pool Co. different from other pool builders?

What is gunite and why do you use it?
Gunite is a high-strength concrete mixture that’s pneumatically applied to create the structure of your pool. It allows for virtually any shape or design, offers long-term durability, and provides a reinforced shell that’s ideal for custom pools.
How long does gunite take to cure?
Gunite typically cures over 28 days. During that time, we’ll monitor the structure and ensure it’s properly hydrated to prevent cracking or shrinkage. While it cures, we continue other steps like tile, coping, and decking to keep your project moving forward.
What should I expect after plaster is applied?
After the plaster is applied, your pool is immediately filled with water to begin the curing process. Over the first 30 days, your pool surface is still hardening and balancing — proper chemical care and brushing are essential during this period.
How should I care for my pool after plastering?
Brush the pool walls and floor twice daily to remove dust and prevent mottling.
Avoid adding salt and maintain chlorine levels for at least 30 days.
Do you offer maintenance or startup services?
Yes! We handle initial pool startup after plastering, including water balancing and system setup. We also provide maintenance guidance or can refer trusted service partners if you prefer ongoing care.
Do you build more than just pools?
Yes! Float Pool Co. specializes in complete outdoor environments, including outdoor kitchens, fireplaces, custom water features, pergolas, patios, landscape, exterior design coordination.
Our founder, Brandy Ford, also owns a residential construction company, which allows us to seamlessly assist with home additions, remodels, and design projects that tie into your outdoor space.
